Information processed on your device

DuxMark is an offline Markdown reader and editor. It processes the Markdown files and local images you choose to open on your Windows device. It stores the following application data locally so its features work:

• Settings and preferences
• Open-document paths and session state
• Crash-recovery copies of unsaved document content
• Words you add to the DuxMark dictionary
• Microsoft WebView2 profile data used by the local Markdown preview

This application data is stored in DuxMark's per-user local application-data area. Classic installs normally use %LOCALAPPDATA%\MDD; Windows may redirect that path into DuxMark's package-specific app-data area for Microsoft Store or MSIX installs. Your Markdown documents remain in the locations where you open or save them.

Data collection and transmission

DuxMark does not send your documents, file paths, application data, usage activity, advertising identifiers, telemetry, crash reports, or diagnostics to DoubleDux LLC or to an application service. Remote images and raw HTML in Markdown previews are blocked.

If a future version offers diagnostic data collection, it will be disabled by default and require your explicit opt-in before data is sent. The applicable privacy policy will be updated before that version is distributed.

External links and Microsoft services

When you deliberately open a web or email link, Windows sends it to your chosen default application. The destination service and that application handle information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Microsoft may separately process Microsoft Store transactions, downloads, Windows diagnostics, or WebView2 runtime diagnostics under Microsoft's terms and privacy statement. That processing is controlled by Microsoft and Windows settings; it is not DuxMark application telemetry sent to DoubleDux LLC.

Your choices and data retention

You control which files DuxMark opens and where they are saved. To remove locally stored application data from a classic install, close DuxMark and delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\MDD. For a Microsoft Store or MSIX install, use the app reset or uninstall controls provided by Windows. Removing application data erases DuxMark's settings, session information, recovery copies, custom dictionary, and WebView2 profile; it does not delete Markdown documents you saved elsewhere.

Children

DuxMark is a general-purpose productivity application. Because DuxMark does not collect user data, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If DuxMark's data practices change, DoubleDux LLC will update this policy and its effective date. Any future in-app diagnostic collection will be opt-in.
